School Volunteers

We need volunteers throughout the year to assist students during Kindergarten & 1st grade lunch (first two weeks of school), picture days (fall & spring), Race for Education (September/October), Kindergarten Registration (March), mobile dentist (March), Read-A-Thon (March), Book Fair (April), and 4th Grade Picnic (May). Volunteer opportunities are provided regularly at www.timetosignup.com/bsespto.

Teachers may also reach out to families for extra help in the classroom, so be sure to submit your clearances to the school office so you’re ready to volunteer at any time!

Teacher Appreciation

We work with the principals to recognize teachers and staff throughout the year. Volunteers are needed throughout the year to plan appreciation gifts, craft & decorate the faculty lounge, coordinate bi-monthly breakfasts & dinners during conferences, and secure donations of goods from local businesses for our Appreciation events in May.

Family Events

We work with the principals to put on special events like the Back to School Bash, Literacy Nights, & Family Fun events for BSES families. Volunteers are needed to help plan events and be on-site to fill various roles as needed. Volunteer opportunities are provided regularly at www.timetosignup.com/bsespto.

NEXT STEPS

Come to a meeting

Each month, PTO volunteers meet to discuss activities, budget, and plans for the upcoming school year. This is a great way to stay in the loop about school initiatives and ways you can support your student and BSES teachers & staff.

We will hold only two evening meetings this year (at New Horizon Cafe) in August & January. There will be no morning meeting held on these two dates. Morning meetings will be held at 9:30am in the PTO room at Bermudian Springs Elementary School. See this year’s meeting schedule, agendas, and minutes from past meetings here.

NEXT STEPS

Join a committee

We have four committees — Appreciation, Race for Education fundraiser, Read-A-Thon fundraiser, and 4th Grade Picnic. It’s helpful to have a few consistent volunteers we can count on from year to year to improve efficiency of these four initiatives and build onto the prior year’s activities. Many hands make light work — consider volunteering as part of these committees each year. Volunteer opportunities for all of these committees are provided regularly at www.timetosignup.com/bsespto.

NEXT STEPS

Become a leader

We need capable leaders to head up the PTO and its four committees. We’re currently seeking a Race for Education fundraiser committee chair and Read-A-Thon fundraiser committee chair. Email bsespto@bermudian.org if you’re interested in learning more about any of these roles. Volunteer opportunities for all of these committees are provided regularly at www.timetosignup.com/bsespto.

Our Officers: Andrea Everhart (President), Jason Mleczko (Vice President), Katie Stehr (Treasurer), Nathan Biles (Secretary), and Julie Williams (Appreciation Committee Chair)
